As the Crew of the U.S.S. Roddenberry go to investigate the mysterious signal, they encounter… DANGER!! When an atmosphere leak occurs, Thogar has to choose: does he save himself by putting on his space suit, or will he close the air lock and save the crew?
Meanwhile, Ken Costigan and Keel have to evade strange projectiles coming off of the meteor. Isaac and Delta Zed work to repair the ship despite the shaking and jostling that is occurring.

The system is Cosmic Patrol from Catalyst games. It means to capture the golden era of science fiction, drawing inspiration from Buck Rogers, The Lensman, John Carter, “X Minus One”, and more. This episode, we meet the characters, and begin the mission. The crew members of the U.S.S. Roddenberry have to stop a comet that is careening towards Sol while emitting signals of odd origins! Will they be able to determine the source of this erratically behaving phenomenon???

And now it’s time for some more commentary! We talk about the characters’ motivations. We also talk about how Jorus, with his “get-the-job-done” attitude and mind-reading ability, influenced the group. Mike and Jeremy talk about how different TV characters influenced their initial character concepts. Jordan talks about how hard it is not to lead the characters. Jeremy mentions how hard it was to avoid meta-gaming.
Mike received a character point for advancing Valentine Montecute the most, particularly in his mentoring relationship with Brother Benedict. Johnny got the character point for best roleplaying. The introduction of Jorus caused a maturation of the group. Johnny got the point for best snack for bringing home-made jalapeño poppers.
And it wouldn’t be a bone throwers session without some bad, bad puns.

After Thor’s unfortunate law enforcement encounter last episode, Michael Warner and Joy Campbell enjoy some weed together. Harold, her dealer, comes over with more weed. Harold tells Michael that he can provide him with both weed and weed killer.
Leroy has a flashback scene to the night when he broke his back. He finds a connection between Michael and Joy’s mother.
Joy negotiates a raise with her Chicken Hut manager, Harold, so she can buy a car. Shamus, the new employee, doesn’t make it past the training process.

We also discuss how the last episode was heavily tinged with horror, and the introduction of the terrifying Fae. Jordan talks about subverting expectations, particularly with the sacrifice.

The Queen, head of the new Angellan Church founded by her father, is afraid that some of her subjects may be loyal to the Rheeman Church. She is afraid they may go to any extreme to bring the ancient faith back to the Realm of Angels.
The party has been tasked by the Queen’s spymaster, Lord Walsham, with finding who would steal from the Crown. As they investigated, they were attacked. As we join them, they are just hanging by a thread…
