BTT One-Shot: Capers, Ep. 3

Having completed the rescue ahead of the GM’s schedule, it is revealed to the party that they are indeed on Santa’s naughty list. But there still is a job to be done. And it turns out that there is nothing “nice” about it as a showdown with Tommy’s Billy Club and Billy’s Tommy Gun ensues.

Rival mobster families, and late night warehouse showdowns make for a classic 1920’s gangster story. In this episode the players throw Aaron some curveballs, both with the ruleset and also in the story, by getting a bit ahead of themselves. It looks like disaster awaits for at least one character. It’s time for the first ever, Bone Throwers Theater Christmas Special. Aaron takes the reins and drives the sleigh through the cold winter night for a new game for the podcast, Capers. In this episode, we polish off character creation, set the scene in the 1920s for this Christmas story, and get our first look at the rule set involving a deck of cards rather than dice. Hang on tight, as we start this fun story we have nicknamed “How The Mob Saved Christmas”.

BTT One-Shot: The 2600 Club, Ep. 6

This game has been listed as an inspiration for the show since the beginning, and we finally got around to playing it, so we had a lot of fun talking about it in this commentary episode. Although Jordan reveals the amount of homework he did for this story, as usual, the player’s choices didn’t always line up to bring out those details. But it was quite interesting hearing the depth of the story shared after the fact.
