BTT One-Shot: The 2600 Club, Ep. 6

This game has been listed as an inspiration for the show since the beginning, and we finally got around to playing it, so we had a lot of fun talking about it in this commentary episode. Although Jordan reveals the amount of homework he did for this story, as usual, the player’s choices didn’t always line up to bring out those details. But it was quite interesting hearing the depth of the story shared after the fact.

More wonky phone calls, morse code, repeating number sequences, and now a voice that claims to be watching the characters. All the boys do what the can to silence the calls but the voice is now in their heads and threatens to do more than just harass them with messages.

For this Horror Halloween One-Shot, we finally get around to playing a game we have pulled a lot of inspiration from, Fate Accelerated, another game put out by Evil Hat Productions (Monster of the Week). 10CThings really spiral out of control quickly in this episode. Despite successfully gaining a “hope die”, most of the characters still fell short of finding refuge in the bunker. The end came quickly for some, while others put up more of a fight. But one by one, the horror of “them” was too much to overcome.
