We had a lot of fun with this episode, despite the mission and our rolls not going according to plan. An eerily deserted base camp, a disabled DHD, an unexpected acid rain storm, and in true BTT fashion, a plethora of word-play jokes are what the group has to overcome on the first leg of their mission.

In this episode we attempted to tackle the mechanics of a “Convince Encounter”. Our horrible roles didn’t allow things to go as smoothly as intended, although they made it highly entertaining as the group escapes a diplomatic crisis. Then, this group of newbies also have to escape a crisis in the Gate Room, and end off-world without a full mission briefing. What could go wrong?

As much as we have talked about and drawn inspiration from the universe of Stargate, we just had to run a session of this game as soon as we could get our hands on it. We have a couple special guests on this play through, and in this episode we introduce the characters and take a look at how combat works in preparation for the inaugural mission of a new SG team form the Phoenix Site.

Three main campaigns and about 2 dozen one-shots adds up to a lot of episodes, and some great stories. In this bonus commentary episode, we talk about a lot of our favorite characters, scenes and other memorable moments we’ve had on the show. We talk about some of the behind the scene things when it comes to collaborative storytelling, and even a bit of production. We also share a few outtakes and highlight several outstanding contributions from past cast members; Carlin, Stephanie, and Mike. It’s definitely been a fun ride, and there is still much more to come.

Here’s a quick commentary on our play session of Lasers & Feelings. We talk about the mechanics of the games system and what tweaks we would explore to give more room to all aspects of the game. We also make comparisons to other one-shots we have run, such as Fiasco, Inspectres, and Star Wars. All said and done, we enjoyed it, and hope you did as well.

It’s gonna take the superior technical knowledge and the ingenuitive quick wit of the entire crew if they wish to bring the story to a close in this episode. One thing is for sure, their plan could cause lasting cosmic repercussions for the entire planet. But that’s a risk you take in letting the dangerous one come up with the plan.

In this episode, you can really tell that we thoroughly enjoyed this part of the story as the pop-culture references were quite abundant. The crew takes the entire ship into the mysterious hole in the ground and ultimately find a little more than they bargained for.

The “Away Team” finds that the planet is much different than when they were there previously; particularly in it’s population. Felix and the doctor work frantically on the ship’s “goo crisis”, and try to restore everything to working order for the crew’s newly formed dangerous plan.

For this one-shot series, we enlist an All-star cast (just because we all have J names) for a fun, one-page RPG; Lasers & Feelings. Character creation goes pretty quickly in this game, then we get right into the story, full of mystery and adventure on an alien planet.

This is not our normal commentary style episode, as we only briefly touch what we did in our play of the roleplaying game then jump fully into what we were all waiting for… our commentary/review of Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker. From the visuals, to acting, to our favorite scenes, we touch a little bit of everything, sharing our opinions on what we liked, what we didn’t like, and our differing theories on some of the finer details that are left to our imaginations. In the end, we had a great time discussing a saga that has been in the hearts of so many for 42 years!

So much for staying free from First Order entanglements. The regime seems to have a peculiar interest in Zorii’s crew, and there are some hints at the beginning of descent within the galactic superpower. Also, some of the players couldn’t help but dive headlong into some commentary on the movie an episode ahead of schedule. But the full commentary will have to wait until the next One-Shot episode. Enjoy the mysterious conclusion of the spice runner’s story.

Well, no job is as simple as it seems for Zorii Bliss and her crew. Two unlikely characters were selected to negotiate for payment, and it wouldn’t be Nal Hutta without a dark ally shootout, or some sketchy gambling. We did invent along the way an off the cuff a new casino dice game, and a play for our gamblers to ensure a profit. That’s what this episode holds in store.

Since most of us have a love for all things Star Wars, including the roleplaying game, we decided to have some fun after we all saw The Rise of Skywalker. We’ll be playing along side the timeline of the latest trilogy, and our characters are actually inspired by The Rise of Skywalker. If for some reason, you haven’t seen the movie by now, there will be spoilers throughout this one-shot, as well as many Star Wars tropes and one-liners. And as an added twist, Johnny will be running the game, allowing Jordan to join the cast of characters… and characters they are.
