In this commentary episode, we discuss some of the looming implications of the on the spot roleplaying choices we have made. Not only do those decisions affect the story, but also how we play the game. We also spend some time describing how our style of play may differ from most roleplaying encounters. It’s “collaborative storytelling” where everyone is in the driver’s seat and the GM is just “the director in this sham play”… and we love it.

In a surprising turn of events, an elemental seems to be looking out for the welfare of the group… for now at least. With the information they have gathered Sam has a plan to try and infiltrate The Council.

A lot is revealed in this episode, about bout elementals and androids. It appears that some character’s theories are correct. But even with all this info coming out, there is still quite a bit of confusion and dissension, especially when secret is revealed that puts everyone’s lives in danger.

Here is another commentary episode where we take a look at some of the methods we use for this form of collaborative storytelling, and come to the realization that both GM and players come to the table with “plans” that often get altered before they come to fruition. But still each character (and even a couple NPCs) have their distinct arc that is woven into the overall story… and we always seem to be on the edge of our seats so far. There’s action right from the onset of this episode, and the group flees from one “safe-house” to another. While Sam gets some key info that will blow away some of the fog, a couple new wrinkles are added however. It seems the android components of the group will be adding more complications and glitches than first thought.

The group tries to untangle the “rat’s nest” of clues and info that the Black House has revealed; androids, the Council, the root virus, and other unexplained elemental phenomenon, all while Julian is still suffering from the side effects of… well… they don’t know what. But has their indecision cause them to linger too long in one spot?

In this episode we pick back up with the decision of killing one of their own still looming. With a lot of elemental “bad juju” going on, there is quite a bit of discord, so conflict ensues, however with little effect… at least to the naked eye. There is still a lot of plot and story brewing beneath the surface, and yet another twist to close out the episode.

Last commentary episode we speculated that a new twist was right around the corner, and oh boy, were we right. In this episode, we spend some time theorizing what this “root virus” is all about. We also discuss the reason why such an inter-personal conflict episode was inevitable at this point in the story. A lot may have been vented by the characters, but they still remain on the brink of a dark decision… killing one (at least one) of their own.

We take it back the the roots of the Bone Throwers Theater play style with some intense player versus player conflict. It gets kinda crazy as both characters and players exhibit multiple personalities within the same scene. And of course, Jordan throws in the creepiness factor oh so well… but he is not the only one.

Wanton mayhem, violence, and destruction, that’s what was jam-packed in this episode, and it came from the most unlikely of characters. It seems the group adds yet another ticking time bomb of fury to it’s collection. And even though that is par for the course, not every character is willing to accept it without a fight, so to speak.

The Black House Raid quickly becomes the Black House Escape in this episode. Trapped on two separate floors, the characters battle whatever Jordan can throw at them. We get a sense that as players we are fearing for their lives, because despite some really hot dice rolls, character points and fate points were flying off the shelves very early on this session.

Although the last few episodes have answered a lot of questions, Jordan has stayed true to form and has still left a lot of mystery in the air. We seem to be asking more questions than we started out with, including how long is this Bear character actually going to stick around. Jordan reveals how he makes some of his plot choices, and gives some insight on the makeup of The Council. He actually was quite forthcoming with this info. This could only mean there’s another big twist right around the corner. Stay tuned!

Working their way though the Black House, characters pick up new pieces to the puzzle, face down some unexpected proxies, and rescue the new characters. Sounds productive right? However, there are a few things that will leave you breathless in this explosive and earth shattering episode.

The two side of the story converge as everyone is focused on the “Black House”. The main group works to covertly infiltrate the base, and Archi and Bear are interrogated, seemingly by The Council itself. What are our characters really up against? It appears we have yet to find that out for sure.

Here’s the BIG NEWS!!! We are adding a cast member to Bone Throwers Theater! Everyone welcome Ellie! She has been an outstanding player so far and we can’t wait to put out what she has contributed to the story. For her first episode, we see the impact of our previous “side-shots” as we bering back our beloved street kids. We knew there was something compelling about these kids. Now let’s see how Jordan works it back into the main story.

With two pressing objectives in play the group has to decide which matter is more threatening. They choose to head to the Aquarail station to retrieve the mysterious box, which proved to be a wise decision as they met an agent laying in wait to snatch it for themselves. But were they working for the Fire Drakes, or someone else… perhaps even The Council?

Season 2 is turning everything on it’s head so far. Our group makes their way to a new hideout, and it’s a familiar location to the story. But it brings a dark resolution to one of the side-shot episodes. Themes of loyalty, tenacity, betrayal, and deception are displayed here, but in some unexpected ways, and from the most unlikely of characters.

As Season 2 kicks off, it has been a week since the fight in the park. One character has been in a coma the entire time, while the others hideout with the Healing Hands, fearing that they are now wanted by the Council. But that secret base is far from safe as it appears the Fire Drakes are aware of their location.

Season 1 is in the books, so in this commentary episode we rehash our favorite moments from the most recent episodes, and touch on how some of the characters are far removed from where they fist started off. We also point out how the nature of the conflict in this campaign differs in one big way from our previous stories, leaving us questioning what side of the war are the characters actually on. Season 2 of Elements of War is sure to have a lot of big reveals.

It’s the Season 1 Finale of this campaign, and the stage is set for our hodgepodge hired Healing Hands heroes to finally make a move on the Fire Drakes… and that they do. But an unforeseen threat sparks a throw down at a public park in broad daylight. And with that kind of disturbance of the peace, in Consiglio, everyone loses… even the victors.

Characters drop some hints of some possible “off-screen” nefarious dealings, while Jordan paints a bleak picture of the true state of affairs for the Healing Hands. And yet again at the end another episode we have Sam… and a body. But this time there is an intriguing twist.

In this commentary episode we explore some possible reasons why this campaign is really working out our roleplaying muscles rather than our dice rolling skills. I mean, we were 25 episodes in before our first character fired a shot. But we’d been so gripped by the story not everyone even noticed. We also toss around some theories about the tidbits of info the characters just received and what that could mean for future conflicts.

In this episode, we point out how our character have spent more time apart rather than working along side each other. In this instance that proves to be quite beneficial as the two locations that they investigate both reveal some crucial information about the Fire Drakes.

This group is getting very familiar with the sewer system in Consiglio, as they meet up at the site of the explosion, and sneak past the guards to find out the fate of Choler.
