A new game style for us warrants some commentary, so that is exactly what we tackle in this episode. We discuss the pace of the game and some things we did not include in the basic format of the game. All in all, we enjoyed this play through and think some compelling stories were created, which sparked some conversation on the dynamics of our roleplaying group and how the session reminded us of previous campaigns and one-shots.

We complete the second round of negative memories for the rest of our patients in this episode. Death plays a major role in the stories of these characters. Some narrowly escape it, some inadvertently invite it in to their life, and for some we learn that it is a welcomed old friend. But no matter the role, all these stories have become tragedy.

Things really spiral out of control quickly in this episode. Despite successfully gaining a “hope die”, most of the characters still fell short of finding refuge in the bunker. There was certainly a lot to digest in this first session of season 3, as well as a lot of “firsts” for our characters 2/3 of the way through their journey to the Animal Preserve. We comment on a first for the players in a different mode of storytelling. We really enjoyed the mystery and intrigue that this latest non-linear format brought to the table, and we hope you did as well. Julian’s got some pretty jagged puzzle pieces to put together on the journey, and the picture that is being revealed is quite jaded. Or is that just his interpretation? Here is the season 2 finale! In this action-packed episode, the group sets into motion a plan that will really shake up the city. Jordan picks up a new one-shot via a Kickstarter for us to play, Cthulhu Dark. This fits our gravitation toward our usual dark and spooky stories. We’ll create our characters, come up with some interesting backstories, and by the end of the episode Jordan says “The victims will should be ready.”
