This game has been listed as an inspiration for the show since the beginning, and we finally got around to playing it, so we had a lot of fun talking about it in this commentary episode. Although Jordan reveals the amount of homework he did for this story, as usual, the player’s choices didn’t always line up to bring out those details. But it was quite interesting hearing the depth of the story shared after the fact.

More wonky phone calls, morse code, repeating number sequences, and now a voice that claims to be watching the characters. All the boys do what the can to silence the calls but the voice is now in their heads and threatens to do more than just harass them with messages.

The investigation in the woods continues and we see some typical high school tensions between the characters. That tension quickly fades as some mysterious clues are discovered. It seems the snooping around has made them possible targets as they all receive an ominous phone call.

The characters are are students at Mont Clark High School in Pine Grove Tennessee, “GO HAWKS”. The story kicks off as they learn of the mysterious deaths of two of their classmates. Some of them ditch school to investigate the scene.

For this Horror Halloween One-Shot, we finally get around to playing a game we have pulled a lot of inspiration from, Fate Accelerated, another game put out by Evil Hat Productions (Monster of the Week). In this first one-shot episode we do our character creation as Jordan sets the scene for the horror story centered around mysterious telephone anomalies.
