And then there are the frat boys… Let’s just say, what happens at the frat house, never stays at the frat house, which is quite unfortunate for one of our esteeming characters.

Some characters desperately try to hide their secrets in this episode; but to no avail. Science has caught up with Kennedy and has pinned her as The Blue Scorpion. And Phase’s identity as Franklin is used against him by another one of our heroes. But certainly this will not come back to haunt him later!

Things get a little crazy in this episode of Fiasco. Characters display their powers for the first time with some fatal repercussions… or at least with some over the top stereotypical fraternity hijinks. This story is taking on the flavor of a college movie where no jokes are off limits.

We introduce our character names, alter egos, and superpowers. In our first few scenes we get a couple origin stories and some player versus player conflicts already… in true fiasco fashion. Jeff chooses a black die and the table frames a ridiculous scene. Johnny gets a black die for his scene involving multiple dimensions, and Jeremy gets a white die and an early lead in Dillon’s feud with Kennedy.

We’re polishing off the character creation phase in this episode, to include some interesting (or disturbing) origin stories, and taking all the loose ends and weaving them together to create a complicated conundrum of how all our characters are more closely connected than anyone realized. Ok, maybe we’re just pulling on a thread that will totally unravel the world as we know it. It’s a matter of perspective, and only time will tell.

We also start to postulate how the combinations of these assignments and relationships could create some quite interesting scenes. Here’s another Throwback to one of our favorite games to play, Fiasco. We chose a superheroes play-set, and with our eccentric imaginations, and dark sense of humor, it’s sure to be a series of mishaps and blunders. In this episode, we set up our character relationships, and already we can tell that these characters may be super, but will fall short of being actual heroes.

We dive deep into the revamped mechanics of the D6 system in this episode. We try to wrap our minds around a different approach to Hero Points, experience some the new combat rules, and also try out the chase mechanics for the first time. But by the end, the story has still moved along as our heroes are trying to confirm their theories of the impostor Capitan’s scheme.

The next round of investigation takes place at the office, and the “client” calls quite displeased. The jury is split on what to do next, but before they can come to a consensus, supernatural sparks start to fly in the form of visions, voices, and violent flames. The franchise gets a call and secures it’s next job form a peculiar gentleman who works at The Canterbury. During the Investigation Phase, Jordan reveals that there are some real life details weaved into the premise of the story, at least according to a list of Seattle’s most haunted places. But the group goes to see there is any truth to this ghost story.

We set up our franchise in this episode. Our choices of the franchise name, location, and financial status will determine some key details in the game. When we start rolling for what our technology limitations are, that adds some pretty interesting quirks that will provide some challenges for the business… but will make for some great storytelling for sure.

Here’s another throwback to one of our favorite games. This is our 1st run of the game Inspectres; a game that combines the worlds of Ghostbusters and Cops. In this episode, we begin the process of developing our characters using the Campaign Mastercraft Method! Jordan then conducts interviews with each of the characters to learn even more about them.

All our characters spring into action to bring an end to the battle, and along with it, the end of the school day, and our play session. Jordan explains the after-game adjustments that can be made to our characters to become better at their specific areas of study. We then slip into some commentary on the game play and how the mechanics are a interesting departure from the dice systems that we are used to. We also share some of the things that make role playing games fulfilling for us a s a group, concluding that this is a system we would love to come back and play again.

We pick up the story in this episode at the end of the first long grueling day at Eldritch High. The students, however, have more excitement in store as the mystery surrounding Gareth and Mr. Twiggy is revealed. The lessons taught on the first day of school are already being put to use in the form of some extracurricular activity; a magical battle on the quad.

This is not our normal commentary style episode, as we only briefly touch what we did in our play of the roleplaying game then jump fully into what we were all waiting for… our commentary/review of Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker. From the visuals, to acting, to our favorite scenes, we touch a little bit of everything, sharing our opinions on what we liked, what we didn’t like, and our differing theories on some of the finer details that are left to our imaginations. In the end, we had a great time discussing a saga that has been in the hearts of so many for 42 years!

So much for staying free from First Order entanglements. The regime seems to have a peculiar interest in Zorii’s crew, and there are some hints at the beginning of descent within the galactic superpower. Also, some of the players couldn’t help but dive headlong into some commentary on the movie an episode ahead of schedule. But the full commentary will have to wait until the next One-Shot episode. We’ll be playing along side the timeline of the latest trilogy, and our characters are actually inspired by The Rise of Skywalker. Aaron joins the party with his character Hector, and each character also gains one additional love interest. The characters are sent out to work together but end up working against each other sparking a very interesting aspect of this game… The Horror Revealed. Any it is horrific indeed.

In this first play episode of the game, we get our feet wet learning how this system works, and there is much ado about the desire of a potato. Gregor and Yuri show us that it is near impossible to please the master. But even if you do, the rewards are just as horrific as the punishments.

For our next Throwback Series, we go back to an old favorite, Fiasco, but with a twist.
